The populations of the hills, situated at the border beween Birmania, Thailand Laos and China. Akkha, Lisu, Mien, Hmong are etnies of chinese origins which live in these territories because of their desire of liberty and autonomy from the central government; they also had the desire to maintain intact their ancient traditions. They live in remote frontier areas, which are accessable with difficulty. They live with the land products and also, in the most isolated lands, with the coltivation of the poppy of opium.
